First it happened in the music industry; technology reinvented the entire market making it the first casualty of the digital revolution and redefining the business for a generation. Teenagers figured out how to source and share music quicker than record labels could. And, while other industries like entertainment and fast moving consumer goods and services have shown that they are quicker to adapt to rapidly evolving audiences immersed in a tech-led world (VR offers a good example), what level of innovation will brands, platforms and media distributors need to remain in the race for consumer retention?
